I'm not really sure how well the 7 hour car ride is going to go with our VERY active little one, but my guess is that she will be screaming like crazy after the first hour... I hope I'm wrong. We bought her a couple new toys to give her throughout the car ride just to keep her busy.

I can't really include a list of my hubby's things he packed because he is the typical male. He goes into the bedroom, grabs random stuff, and he's good to go. haha! Men!
Did I leave anything out?? What would you bring on a trip with a little one?
I am also co-hosting a giveaway over at So Much Sunshine for an $80 gift card to Target! Who doesn't love Target....besides my bank account. To enter use the rafflecopter below:

We never attempted a trip of that length until my daughter was much older. I could never work out whether it would be better to go while she was awake or try to do it while she was sleeping, so we just never went! I hope your robust bag of activities does the trick & that your little one is a good car napper. Have a great time!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm super nervous of this trip...if you couldn't tell by my HUGE packing list! lol Thank you!
DeleteWe took Brookie to Vegas for a week when she was 18 months old ... oy!!! I have NEVER seen our car packed as much as when bringing a baby! LOL!!!!! Now that she's older ... less to pack, thank goodness! LOL!!!
ReplyDeletehahaha yeah, I feel like there is a lot more baggage that comes with taking a younger child. Super nervous about this!
DeleteI am taking note of this. We've never travelled for more than an hour with my daughter and probably wouldn't in the near future but I've always wondered what's going to happen. I'll probably lose my mind. haha!
ReplyDeleteI plan on writing a follow-up post about what I wish we brought and what we didn't need to bring at all so I will definitely let you know!! LOL I have a feeling I may lose it too...hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised
DeleteI love swimming in the summer...especially the beach! And good luck :)
ReplyDeleteMe too! I could live in a pool in the summertime! lol Thanks!
DeleteIt's a really good habit to list down the things needed for a vacation! I tend to not do that and trust my own memory most of the time... which I know I shouldn't get used to. HAHA! I need to develop my listing skills when it comes to packing!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great time! :)
I am definitely a list maker. I have to write everything down or I will definitely end up forgetting something.... and most times I forget something anyway
DeleteLove how your posts are so relatable! I have nominated you for a Liebster Award! check it out here: http://www.lifeinthewilde.com/liebster-award-nominee/

DeleteThis is a great post! I can't imagine trying to travel with a little one but I'm sure being as prepared as you couldn't hurt!
ReplyDeleteOh and for the giveaway, my favorite thing to do in the summer is travel, whether it's to new places or old favorites, I just love to get away!
Deletetraveling is my favorite thing to do in the summer too...it's a little harder now with the little one but maybe next year the hubby and I can go on a nice romantic getaway
DeleteGreat travel list! I need to keep this for reference! Oh, and thanks for the giveaway. I LOVE Target. Actually, one of my favorite things to do is (lame enough), GO to target, lol. No, my favorite thing to do in the summer is see old friends and go do stuff outdoors!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! Target is amazing! And I also love being outdoors in the summer
Deletegreat tips! such a fun post!

Thanks Kelsey!!
DeleteGreat list!!! I always forget something when I go on a trip!!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Even when I make a list there ends up being something that I forgot! lol
DeleteOofah...packing with a baby. I bow down to you lady. I have no kids but it seems very daunting to prepare and travel with a kiddo. Brava!
ReplyDeletehahaha Thank you!! We'll see if I have any hair left by the time I get back..... I may pull it all out within the first hour of travel. lol!
DeleteIt's amazing how much stuff we have to take for just a few days considering how TINY they are!! We always pack the iPad too, loaded up with free Disney baby apps and downloads of some Sesame Street or Super Simple Learning songs. It's emergency use only - when she's about to be screaming from being held in the same seat for too long. It saves the ears of everyone else on the plane!! Also for long car journeys we pack a few kids song CDs - she loves to sing along to things and as much as it might do our heads in to listen to them over and over, if it keeps her happy and able to be in her car seat for longer, we'll manage. :) For the beach, I'd also take her sun hat and UV protectant rash guard because she's not really a sun baby! (Dad's fair skin!) Enjoy!! First weekend away is always such a blast!!
ReplyDeleteAn iPad would be a great idea too! She loves songs too so that would be good too! I definitely am planning on bring a few sunhats for her because she's so fair skinned. Thank you so much for all of your ideas! I really appreciate it! Keep your fingers crossed for me! lol
