I was so excited when Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood contacted me about styling our floral pencil skirts 6 different ways between our two blogs. I knew it would be a lot of fun. I always love to think of how to wear one piece multiple ways.
Here are the 3 ways Ada style her skirt:
I love that I had a dark version and she had a lighter version of the floral print skirt. I think it adds nice variety! lol! And she seriously has the cutest shoes ever!
Here are the 3 ways I styled my skirt:
Outfit #1 - Brunch Look
Honestly, I wasn't sure what a brunch look looks like so I kind of just assumed dressy but not business-y, and this is what I came up with. I wanted to lighten up the look a little bit so I added a white top and dressed it up with a pearl and black beaded necklace and bracelet. I actually got this top on clearance at a thrift shop for only $2! It's a Loft top and it was never even worn. Score!
Outfit #2 - Work Look
I'm actually really happy with the way this look turned out. This is definitely something I could have pictured myself wearing to work (when I worked in an office). I usually go the easy route and add a blazer. It dresses up any look
Outfit #3 - Casual Look
I decided to go really casual with this last look because this is probably how I would wear it for a bbq in the backyard with friends or any other casual event. I go for the comfiest possible look. I just went with a regular red ribbed tank, black sandals, and a long necklace just to finish it up a bit.

Ok that white top with your brunch outfit--great find!! It's absolutely gorgeous and looks PERFECT with your floral skirt!! I like the looseness on top with the tighter skirt. White just brings a bit of elegance to the outfit. You could even pair this with summer wedges!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much girl! The back of that top is actually really cute too, I should have taken pictures. It has buttons that go all the way up the back. I think I meant to wear this with my summer wedges but grabbed the wrong shoes for pictures and was too lazy to retake them. haha!! That one is my favorite look too!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I love finding new ways to wear one item.
ReplyDeleteI love skirts and dresses in the spring! I don't know what it is about spring but I swear that is usually my go to. And thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Julie!
ReplyDeleteGreat job showing the versatility of this piece! I think my favorite is the black top and black blazer version. Very sophisticated. :)

I am so glad we did this together and we should revisit it for Summer or Fall and maybe even Winter. I hope you liked what I wrote in my post as well and that I mentioned little Paige. That brunch look is a very close 2nd favorite but I still love the work look the most. All 3 outfits are chic, feminine and versatile.
ReplyDeleteHappy 3rd Mothers Day to you, Julie!
Your floral skirt is so pretty! Love all three looks but my favorite is the polished work look!

Doused In Pink
Thanks so much! I'm still not sure if the Brunch or Work look ended up being my favorite. I really liked them both a lot.
ReplyDeleteYes, thank you so much for what you wrote. I loved it! I think it would be a lot of fun to do another post like this in the Fall. We could pick another item to try too! That would be fun! Happy Mother's Day to you as well, Ada!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I always think a black blazer finishes off a work look so well. I'm going to try to challenge myself to wear more blazers instead of cardigans when the weather gets cold again
ReplyDeleteAll of these styles are great! My favorite is how you wore it for brunch! The white pops against the black and red!
