March goals & February recap

March Goals

//  I'm going to keep posting 4-5 times a week.  I have a lot to share this month, so you will probably be seeing me 5 days a week Mon-Friday

//  By the end of the month I would like to add paid ad spots to my blog.  I'm still researching both Passionfruit and Adproval to see which one I want to go with.  I like the idea of Adproval because they only charge you when you actually make money, versus Passionfruit charging a monthly fee even if you don't make money that month.  Passionfruit's monthly fee is really cheap tho, so maybe it's worth it.  Any thoughts or advice, friends??  Right now I am still currently doing free ad swaps, if anyone is interested, let me know!

//  I have been completely failing at exercising lately...I would really love to have a set schedule/routine during the week.  Definitely another thing I would like to work on!

//  I'm also thinking about working on a survey.  Sarah gave me the idea when she reviewed my blog this past week.  (She has very reasonable priced blog services, if you are interested, and she's really great to work with!)  I am really interested in what you do and don't like about my blog.  It will be short and painless, don't worry!

//  Take time for myself every once in a while.  I haven't been doing this as often as I should.

** I also have a HUGE Target giveaway coming up in a couple weeks, so stay tuned!! **

February Recap

//  I posted lots of fun outfits.  I'm getting better at remembering to take pictures when I change out of my sweatpants!  Here's a quick outfit recap:
1  |  2  |  3  |  4  |  5  |  6  |  7  |  8  |  9

//  I only did ONE painting in February.  I just haven't felt motivated lately.  Hopefully some of m artistic motivation comes back soon!

//  I also shared what I've read lately, celebrated my daughter's birthday by writing her a special letter, and let my husband take over the blog for a day so you could get to know him.  It's been a big, crazy month!

Do you have any big plans for March??

  3. Loved all your outfits from February! I have no experience with selling paid spots on my blog, but I do sponsor other blogs and all five blogs I've sponsored have used Passionfruit. After hearing that Adproval is free, I'd be curious to look into the pros and cons of each. I'd be happy to take your survey if you end up making one!

  4. Love your February outfits - so many great red accents! As for the ads, I'm curious to hear more about Adproval. I've never heard of it before - all the blogs I've sponsored have used Passionfruit.

  6. Thank you! Yeah, I was feeling really festive last month with Valentine's Day so I ended up wearing a lot of red. lol! But my husband really likes when I wear red so I should probably think about wearing it more often lol

  7. I think that is the only thing holding me back from Adproval, is that not too many people use it or have heard of it yet. I think it's newer.

  8. Thanks so much! I am definitely planning on making a survey. I think it would be a great way to figure out what everyone is liking or disliking seeing around here. Adproval charges a flat rate of 10% on anything you sell otherwise they aren't charging anything. But it seems like not too many other bloggers are using Adproval yet, I'm not sure if it's new or what's going on with that. Every sponsor spot I have paid for or swapped has been through Passionfruit too

  9. Good luck on your goals! I always have exercise on my goal list too :) It's hard to get into a routine, I've finally gotten much better with sticking to one after months!

  13. You wore some great adverts! My only big plan for March is a wedding this weekend. Other than that I will be blogging and working on my novel.

  14. Thanks! This is the first year in a long time that we don't have a wedding to go to...I don't think..? lol! Working on your novel is an amazing goal though! I hope it goes well for you!

  15. Thank you! Exercise always seems to make my list....I will do pretty good for a week or two and then completely stop again. I just need to force myself to do it! It would be easier if I got an elliptical for the house

  16. So excited to be seeing posts more often! I'd love to swap ads with you. I'm pretty sure i've already stolen your button though haha!

  17. I love that polka dot sweater in your outfit recap. Actually all of them are really great! I've been wearing jeans and boots almost exclusively; walking a few blocks to my office just won't fly with fancy shoes and thin tights!

I've been thinking about monetizing, too; I was specifically looking at Passionfruit because many of the past blogs I've sponsored have used them, so I was familiar with it. You can do a free first-month, though I totally signed up and never used it.

  18. Love seeing all your February outfit together like this. What a great collection of looks! ~Cynthia

  19. These are great goals! I have no experience at all with Ad services but I'm glad you're getting into it! I would totally help out with the survey too. I've wanted to do one as well just to see what people like and don't like. I'd be curious to see the results.

  20. Thanks Lauren! Yeah, I think the survey will be a big help to see what people are coming here to see and what they don't like reading about. I'm definitely planning to have one up really soon

  21. Thank you! I was so happy I found that polka dot top at the thrift shop! I love it! I've worn it 2 or 3 times already. Yeah, I can imagine you would be frozen after only a few steps with having something covering your legs. I bought fleece lined leggings and they are sooo warm! Have you ever tried them?

Yeah, I'm probably going to end up going with Passionfruit just because that's what most blogs are using and are comfortable with.

  22. That would be great! If you can make me a button that is 300x100 I will definitely put it up! I'm working on getting all of my buttons the same size, so it will make the transition to Passionfruit easier

  23. I have thought about fleece-lined leggings, but I have such an extensive collection of tights, I'd hate to have to replicate it with leggings..ha!

  24. Thanks!! I'll email you when I've got it ready to go, i'm at work so I can't really play around on picmonkey now haha

  25. haha No problem! Whenever is fine with me!
