Iron Man watercolor painting

Hi everyone!!  It has been WAY too long since I created something new so I forced myself to sit down and paint last night.  I decided to stick to the comic book theme that I've had going lately and paint Iron Man/Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.).  It took me close to 4 hours to do....

What do you think??

This was my reference photo...for those who haven't seen the Iron Man movies.  I lightened him up a lot more in my painting.

Here are some progress shots.  I wish I would have taken more, but I didn't even think about it until I already had the face done.

    Thanks so much! I really need to try to remind myself to take more pictures throughout the process. Maybe eventually I can make one of those time-lapsed videos too! That would be neat!

    I think you have created a phantastic picture! I love superheroes and your iron man looks really super. I also admire you for getting this artwork created within four hours. You must be a superhero too!

    hahaha awww thanks so much! I'm definitely no superhero, but I appreciate the compliment! I've always been a bit of a comic book nerd so I love creating these types of portraits
