5 {Sarcastic} ways to deal with a migraine

//  Build a fort out of cardboard boxes, crawl inside, and seal up all the holes with tape.  The darkness is your friend

//  Ducktape a pillow around your head....ahhhh the silence!

//  Read a good book.  HAHA just kidding.  You can't open your eyes without intense pain.

//  Buy a hat that is a couple sizes too big on you so you can store an icepack in there.  I may or may not have tried this...

//  Lay in bed with the blankets over your head while drooling into your pillow....because, what else can you do?!

And when all else fails just remember: The Ancient Egyptians used to drill holes into the skull because they believed that it would help to relieve the pressure from the head (they called it trepanning).....   So it could be worse, right?!

Hey, if you can't laugh about it then what can you do, right?!

  2. OMG I've heard about it and it just gave me a headache thinking about them drilling a hole on my head. Seriously. I hope it gets better soon! xo

  3. Ugh, I'm a fellow migraine victim! I get them during THAT time of the month and it makes everything 10 times worse :( I've used peppermint oil on my temples, but it doesn't always help. Usually the best thing is a nap, and praying that you don't wake up with it still.
Occasionally I will experience blind spots and loss of feeling in my mouth or hand—do you ever get this bad? Let us know if you find anything that works!!!

  5. Drilling holes into the skull!! Yikes. Sometimes I'm so glad to live in the modern world! I laughed about taping a pillow to your head. That actually sounds kind of nice. I hope you're feeling better soon, but at least you still have your sense of humour :)

  7. I've been getting them pretty often and it's horrible! I'm the type of person that tries to laugh things off tho, when I can. Going to get a brain scan sono to make sure it's nothing serious

  8. Yeah, so that makes me feel a little bit better! lol! At least I'm not living in Ancient Egypt! I'm definitely the type of person that always likes to keep my sense of humor. Sometimes you just need to laugh about it. Even if it's awful. lol

  10. Yep, I am the same way! I end up losing almost all of my vision for up to 45 minutes. It's terrible! During THAT time is when mine are always the worst. It seems to be hormone related because they seem to come around the week before, during, and after.....so I only end up with one clear week, if I'm lucky. I will definitely share the different things I try around here.

  12. Usually I try to put on a brave face about it but I think I'm just exhausted now, so yeah they have definitely been horrible. I get multiple a week now and all I can do is lay in bed in the dark. Not so easy when you have an almost 2 year old. Hoping for some kind of relief soon!

  20. It's so funny and so true! ;) I suffer from migraines too... is it a pet peeve of yours when people who are clearly suffering from a headache say they have a migraine? It's like, "Really? You have a migraine and you're about to go for a run outside?" Drives me nuts! (And I'm sorry you suffer from them, Julie! They are the worst!)

  21. haha yes, exactly!! It really does make me a little crazy. lol! It makes me even more mad when my headache specialist tells me that if I exercise when I get one it could help it go away...ummm no! I can't move when I have a migraine, and if I do move it usually ends with me getting sick. Frustrating!

  22. EXERCISE?!?!?! oh my gosh!! haha. I seriously cannot imagine!

  23. Wow!! These tips are funny, but really effective. I really tried few of them like I just went in the darkness when I was attacked by migraine and I took a long nap etc. I also use pain balm for getting relief from the severe headache or you can migraine and I really get relief from the pain.
