Well, I did it! I finally got around to painting my first piece of art this year! I'm way out of practice so this definitely isn't my best but I feel better now that I've done it. I'm always so much less stressed out after painting.
Yesterday I had an appointment with a new neurologist for my crazy migraines, and I was super nervous about it. She gave me something to help with the pain and also something to hopefully help prevent them. She was very concerned with how much worse they have gotten over the past few months, and I've also lost close to 15 pounds (which I REALLY didn't need to do) so she is also scheduling a brain scan....which is pretty scary. Until then I am going to try to put weight back on....somehow. I thought about trying those Ensure shakes. Has anyone out there tried them before?? Anything else you suggest? I'm also going to try to start working out more to get some muscle weight on me.
Anyway, back to the art! This is the second piece from The Notebook that I've created. The first one was an acrylic painting from the "kiss in the rain" scene. You can see that one HERE.
I painted this one in about 2-3 hours. If I would have taken a little more time on it, I probably would be happier with it. Oh well, it got me back into the rhythm so I'm looking forward to creating more soon!
Here are a few progress shots:

ReplyDeleteThanks Julie! I'm not excited about having to take a pill every single day but if it helps then I will have to. I'm pretty nervous about this scan. And thank you so much for the compliment on my painting. It's definitely been way too long since I've painted. I have to get back in the groove.
ReplyDeletethat painting is amazing! seriously. i couldn't even paint a canvas black without screwing it up ;)
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, so scary! hope everything goes well with the doctor and the scan.
Thank you so much! haha, it's taken MANY years and classes for me to be able to create it... And even more patience. lol! And thank you again, I'm trying not to freak out too bad about the scan/drs yet but it's pretty hard when they mention the possibility of a tumor. I guess we'll be finding out soon!
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic!! You did such a great job! Love that movie too!

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear about all your migraines getting worse! As for Ensure, in high school I tried to gain weight but I didn't notice it making a difference. Maybe if you drink a ton of them it will help, I'm not sure. I only gained weight when I started taking BC haha
ReplyDeleteI love your painting! One of my favorite movies of all time.
love the art! the brain scan part is scary, hope everything goes well!!

I hope you start feeling better soon! I've had an MRI before, and while it's a bit odd it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Your art work is so beautiful, it looks so much like the movie! The Notebook used to be one of my favourite movies :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting! That movie was on the other night and even thought I hadn't seen it in years, I could still quote my favorite parts!
ReplyDeleteGreat work as usual! So talented! It's endearing!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much! That makes me feel a little bit better about it. I'm really claustrophobic so I guess that's another reason why I'm so nervous

ReplyDeleteThank you Jessica! I am definitely getting more and more nervous about the thought of the brain scan. I'm so claustrophobic so I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to handle it
ReplyDeleteI've tried so many things to gain weight over the years, but nothing ends up helping. But with these migraines I've lost so much weight that I REALLY need to put some back on. I may give the Ensure a try but I'm not sure that it will do too much for me. lol
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you so much! Definitely one of my favorites too!
Thank you so much Sara! It's such a great movie!
