Hello everyone, and welcome to the first day of my House Tour. Today we are starting with the Master Bedroom
I should start by telling you this, our house is a very small two bedroom. All of the rooms are pretty small (which is one of the reasons we are thinking about moving). We moved in almost three years ago, and it is still a work in progress. You would think that we would have it all together by now, but I am a very indecisive person and am constantly changing things around.
ANYWAY, a couple weeks ago I entered a giveaway on Jade & Oak to win a bed set from Beddingstyle.com and I actually won!! I couldn't believe it. So I got to pick out $200 worth of product from their website, and this is what I chose:
Here is a view of the other side of the room. In the corner I have a purple bin FULL of boots because I haven't found a "neat" way to display them yet. The big blue pillow is for when I'm reading or blogging in bed, it really helps my back a lot.
And yes, just in case you are wondering, that IS a cupcake/cookie display rack next to the tv. I use it to keep things neat. I keep rings and other accessories on it, along with nailpolish...and even spare change when I'm feeling super lazy.
I use a cork board to display my necklaces, not only to keep them neat, but also to remind me that I have them. I have a bad habit of buying jewelry and not wearing it because I forget I have it. And I also feel like if I can see it then I am more likely to wear it!
I decided to buy some bracelet and earring organizers for the same reason: if it's out then I'll be more likely to wear it. I keep the nicer jewelry that my hubby buys me in my jewelry box for safe keeping.
I used to have a second dresser for my clothes but since the room was small I had to go back to just the one and get a little creative about where I put some of my clothes. I bought these two plastic drawer organizers from Wal-Mart and decided that I would use them to store some of my clothing and accessories. It may not be the prettiest thing ever but it works for now! I measured and cut scrapbook paper to put it the front of the drawer so they aren't see through. And don't mind the full hamper of laundry, that's typical around here. haha!
Not pretty but I have the over the door shoe organizer for flats and sandals, and my scarf organizer.
And that's our Master Bedroom! Nothing too extravagant for us. There is so much I would love to do with this space, so I suspect it will keep changing.
Thanks for stopping in!
Congrats on winning the giveaway. I love the purple bedset! You have some gorgeous necklaces, what a great way to display them. When it comes to jewellery, you're right, it's out of sight, out of mind!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning that bedding!! It is GORGEOUS!! And loving your room!! I love how you keep your accessories organized!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have some great necklaces... so when you come over here to organize my house, you can bring some so that we can do a little switch - a - roo. But seriously, love how you have everything so organized. And yay for the bedding!!
ReplyDeleteYour master bedroom is very cute. The bedding is perfect for a bedroom. Lavender is a very calming color. Corey and I live in a very small 2 bedroom house too. Just a little over 1000 square feet, but we do a have a basement for expansion (and all the crap we've accumulated from 30 years of living and 5 years of marriage).
ReplyDeleteI organize my necklaces the same way! It's so much easier to see all the jewelry. You have some great pieces

ReplyDeleteThank you! I have been wanting purple for so long! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have so many necklaces! lol I like being able to see them so I wear them more often. And yeah, if you find a better solution for your shoes let me know. I'm trying to figure something out for them but I have no clue
ReplyDeleteHey, great minds think alike! haha! Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThat's another reason I wanted purple for our bedroom. I'm a very anxious person so I thought having a calming color in the bedroom would help me relax for bed. It could work, right?! And yeah, our basement is filled with all kinds of stuff too. One day I would love to get it fixed up into a usable art studio
ReplyDeletehahaha sounds like a deal! Thanks girl!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I LOVE this bedding it's so pretty! And surprisingly warm, which is good for me because I'm always cold

ReplyDeletehaha We really do! And thank you! The necklaces on the wall is one of my very favorite things about the room....besides the bed of course! lol
ReplyDeleteI'm really trying to be much more organized this year. You should see what it looked like before I organized it! haha!
ReplyDeleteThat purple bedspread is so pretty!i I also love your jewelry organization, it's so easy to forget what you have if it isn't on display.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I own a lot of jewelry, but I never wore any of it because I never remembered I had it when styling my outfits. Now that it's out in the open I find myself wearing it a lot more.
ReplyDeleteWow congrats on the giveaway win! I like the bedding you chose. I also love purple :) I forget about certain jewelry pieces too! I have all of mine on a hanging jewelry organizer so I can see it all!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I normally don't win anything! But I guess December was my month or something! lol! I won that pretty New Year's dress, that bedding, AND free ad space/design credit on another blog. lol All in one month! Craziness! lol
