OUTFIT: Leopard and mint

For the past few weeks I haven't been on the blog as much as I normally am.  A lot of the time it was due to my migraines, but some of it was just me needing to take a little step back for a while.  I was spending way too much time on the computer and not enough time outside or playing with my daughter and I didn't like that.  I went from blogging 5 days a week to 3 so it wasn't a drastic change but it definitely helped me come back feeling energized and ready for this week.  Sometimes, I think it's nice to step back for awhile.

I have really been enjoying the warmer weather we've been getting.  The weekend is was absolutely beautiful!  This week I think it's even going into the 80s!  I'm going to have to start pulling out the shorts!  I REALLY need a tan...as if you couldn't tell by how pasty I am in these photos. lol!

I also got to see the Avengers 2 over the weekend.  I thought it was really good but not as good as the first one.  I was excited to hear James Spader's voice as Ultron.  That was pretty cool.  I became a huge from of Jame Spader from The Blacklist.  It's such a good show!  Only a few more episodes until the season finale!! I can't wait!

I've actually worn every piece of this outfit in different blog posts on this blog!  I styled a winter weather outfit of this skirt a few months ago when it was still really cold.  The tortoise shell necklace I'm wearing is from Charming Charlie.  You may remember it from my cobalt and leopard outfit a couple weeks ago.  And the mint top I wore with an aztec mini last summer!

Did you do anything fun over the weekend?

  1. I love mixing different colors with leopard print; you always mix so perfectly! Sometimes you have to step back and focus on life instead of your blog. We all need a break sometimes and I think 3 posts a week is plenty! Happy Monday and hope your migraines are slowing down!!

  2. EEK!! Don't give no spoilers about The Blacklist ... we are soooooooo far behind ... but it's a show we can't watch around Brookie ... so it's hard to find time to catch up! LOL!!! We saw A-2 also this weekend and we LOVED it!!!! All the little jokes had the whole theater cracking up!! "Language!" from Cap. America and then everyone kept calling him out on that the rest of the movie ... lol! We were rolling! HA!! LOVING that skirt on you! Looks GORGEOUS!!!!! :)

  4. I really don't know how you ever managed to blog five days a week! Glad you are finding a little more balance with the 3x per week schedule. I also love when people re-wear things on the blog because it's just more realistic to me! Glad you are getting more use out of these great pieces!

  5. I had so many ideas and a ton of motivation at the time but I think I lost a little bit of that steam once it started to get warmer outside. I've been spending a lot of my time outside with my daughter instead. I still have a lot of ideas and things I want to write about, it was just getting it done that was the problem. lol! I wear a lot of the same pieces over and over, I just forget to take pictures of them. lol

  7. haha no Blacklist spoilers here! I hate when people do that to me! Makes me crazy, my mom is the worst with that. The Blacklist is definitely something I watch when Paige is in bed for the night....not something I would want her watching either. I loved all of the jokes in Avengers too.

  8. Aww thanks girl! I'm not sure what my favorite color with leopard print is. I love them all! haha! If I could wear leopard every day without looking like a crazy person, I would. haha! I think 3-4 posts a week is what I'm going to stick to for the rest of the summer. I want to be able to enjoy the warmer weather and get my daughter outside. I could definitely use a tan! haha

  14. Yay for more playtime outside! I'm actually going to wear shorts tonight on our walk for the first time this year. Hopefully I don't blind any drivers with my white legs! Love that mint top. That's one of my favorite colours for this time of year.

  18. Mint and leopard! Such a great combo! It's good that you've taken a step back from blogging and that it's helped you relax and spend time with your daughter! That's great! I've been thinking of taking a minor break in June during my bday month.

  19. That outfit looks so well put together yet kind of casual and relaxed. I need maxi skirts in my life! I've been struggling with being pasty white also, I really need to get the self tanner out but I've been way too lazy. I know what you mean about posting less, I went down to posting twice a week and I like it a lot better. It just gives you more time to come up with good posts and also enough free time so you don't feel chained to your computer!

  20. Yeah, I have definitely been enjoying my 3 days a week schedule more. It's a lot less stressful. I always had ideas for 5 days a week but it's just hard coming up with that kind of time.

  21. Thanks so much! Sometimes breaks are just what you need to come back more excited about everything. I started feeling really anxious and overwhelmed but blogging 3 days a week has made the feeling go away a bit. I've just been trying to get myself healthy and have fun with my little one

  23. haha aww thank you so much! I'm actually Native American so I normally have much darker skin but it's faded the past couple years because I haven't been outside as much. I get tan really easily

  25. I think I will pick back up to 5 days a week eventually but for now it's nice doing it 3 or 4 days a week. I have really been enjoying being outside and playing with my daughter. I want to enjoy the warm weather while it's here. I swear winter lasted forever!
