OUTFIT: A night out

A couple weekends ago my husband and I got to go out to the theater for a nice date night.  His birthday was last week so my mom bought us tickets to see a live action comic book show and it had a sci-fi theme so he was in dorky heaven. haha!  They projected comic book art onto a screen and 3 actors created the voices for all of the characters.  It was pretty funny because at times they did multiple peoples voices, so it was interesting to see them switch back and forth.

It was REALLY cold so I decided to wear a nice sweater tunic with leggings, a leather jacket, and a skull print scarf....  I was still cold.  I'm such a wimp!  I tied a belt around my waist just to add a little something to it.

Since the show was comic book related, I assumed there would be some reading of the screen involved, so I brought my glasses.  I don't wear them very often but my husband likes them.  They never really grew on me. lol.

The show was fairly short so we weren't out very long but it was nice just to get out and have some "us" time without the baby.

OUTFIT: Brrrr...it's getting cold!!

It has been getting COLD around here, ladies!  The next couple days are supposed to be a little warmer, but then we are getting hit by a big cold front.  Yuck!  I'm a sissy when it comes to the cold.

My favorite "go-tos" when it gets cold are: a really cozy fuzzy sweater, and infinity scarf, and booties.  It just screams warmth to me!  I've been a little obsessed with this cobalt blue color that I've been seeing everywhere.  I love it!

I'm still not sold on these black booties though...  I bought them online and I LOVED them in the picture.  I didn't realize they they had a built in platform with the heel.  So basically I feel like a giant! lol!  I'm about 5'8" tall so these make me insanely tall.  I was way taller than my hubby when we went out and it made me slightly uncomfortable...lol!  But they're soooo cute!

What do you ladies think?  Keep the booties or get rid of them??

Painting pumpkins!

Earlier this week I decided to FINALLY paint my pumpkins!  Yeah, I've really been a slacker this year!  Sometimes I decide to carve them and sometimes I paint them.  This year I wanted to make something for my daughter.  After she went to bed I sketched out this Minnie and Mickey design because she LOVES them.  When I finished it, I couldn't wait to show her in the morning!

Needless to say, she was a very happy girl in the morning!

I also painted a quick little owl pumpkin.  She is just as obsessed with owls as I am so I thought she would enjoy that too!  It's pretty sloppy but she could definitely tell what it was

Here is her little excited face when she got up in the morning...   excuse her bedhead, she was a sleepy girl. lol!  She kept screaming Meenee and KeeKee ( Minnie and Mickey) and Whoo whoo, for the owl.  She was a happy girl

Here are our pumpkins from previous years:

Jack and Sally from Nightmare before Christmas

aaaand I even painted a Nightmare Before Christmas pumpkin... I am a little obsessed. LOL

Did you carve or paint pumpkins this year??

OUTFIT: Pinspiration

Are any of you out there as obsessed with Pinterest as I am??  I have 5 different albums just for outfit ideas!  Sometimes while I am looking at all of my fashion pins, I decide that I want to try to make a version of that outfit myself.  So I gave it a try for the first time ever!

I found this outfit idea at Kristine Or Polly and decided to make it my own.
I added a black infinity scarf and super comfy boots because I was going to be doing A LOT of walking that day.

Unfortunately, I was not able to find a source for this one on Pinterest, so if someone does know where it came from then let me know and I will update that as soon as possible.
Paige decided that she wanted in on this photo, so unfortunately you can't see that I have a skinny leopard print belt around my cardigan.  I also was wearing gold accessories and black flats.

BLOGTOBER | Favorite Fall Recipe

Hi everyone!!  It's almost halfway through the month already! Can you believe that?!  Crazy!  Today is day #13 of the Blogtober Challenge over at Helene In Between and The Daily Tay.  It is a month long challenge that gives you daily prompts to write about and link up every day.  Today's prompt is: Favorite Fall Recipe

I haven't gotten a chance to make it myself yet, but my friend had this AMAZING pumpkin dip at one of her parties and I begged her to give me the recipe.  She sent me the recipe via Pinterest and it led back to a lovely blog called Carolina Charm.  I am actually going to be making Thanksgiving dinner for the first time this year, so I am definitely going to make this so people have something to munch on before the whole meal is done.

Ingredients
- 15 oz can of pumpkin
- 5 oz box of instant vanilla pudding (just the powder, do not make the pudding)
- 16 oz container of cool whip
- small pumpkin
- 1/2 tbsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 cinnamon

Directions
1. Mix pumpkin, dry pudding mix, cool whip, and pumpkin pie spice together (by hand) in a very large bowl
2. Chill for several hours before serving.  Meanwhile, carve your pumpkin!
3.  Fill Pumpkin with mix.  Sprinkle with cinnamon, and serve with fresh apple slices or vanilla wafers

Have you ever had this pumpkin dip before??  What is your favorite Fall treat?

BLOGTOBER | Updated Fall Bucket List

Okay so here's the thing.....   I already actually posted my Fall Bucket list in September BUT I thought I would check off the things that I have already done to show you that I'm making progress!

That's not too bad so far, right?!  I've still got quite a few things I want to do.

We just went to the pumpkin patch yesterday, and it was SO COLD!  I had this whole eventful day planned, where we would go through the corn maze, let Paige ride a pony, and eat all of the amazing treats that they had at the farm.  Unfortunately that didn't get to happen.  Not only was it really cold but when we got to the pumpkin patch it POURED down ice cold rain.  Not a good time!  BUT we did get to ride the hay ride and pick out a couple pumpkins, so it wasn't all bad, I guess.

Have you picked out your pumpkins yet?  Is it already freezing where you are??

Don't give up your maxi skirt in the Fall

This summer I have practically lived in maxi skirts.  I just love how comfortable they are.  It's also a lot easier for a mom on the go like me to wear a longer maxi skirt while trying to wrangle my daughter.  If I tried any of those adorable short mini skirts I would probably be arrested for indecent exposure within an hour.  BUT, I digress....

I also love how versatile they are.  You can dress them super casual with a t-shirt/tank or you could dress it up a bit with some great accessories.

You can even style them for Fall!  Yes, it's true!  Lately, I've been very obsessed active on Pinterest and I have been seeing so many great fashion ideas.

I've even tried the look myself earlier this year when the weather was still cold!

If you still need more help or inspiration styling your maxi skirt check out Lauren's ideas over at Exploring my Style.  She's a total sweetheart too!  You'll love her!

So what do you think, are you going to style your maxi skirt for Fall or are you packing it away until next summer?
