Wolverine watercolor painting

It's been a while since I created a new painting, so last night I sat down and forced myself to create something... and I'm actually pretty happy with the way it turned out.  It took me around 5 hours from start to finish.

I have always been a bit of a comic book dork.  Wolverine was always my favorite character, so I had to try him.

I think I may have goofed a little bit on his mouth but I like the way the eyes turned out!  What do you think?

I am going to try to get back into creating something artistic every week... I hope I can stand by that!  I always feel so much better and less stressed out after creating something new.

A couple progress shots

Do you like comic books or the comic book movies??  If so, who is your favorite character?

  1. Wow, great work! I'm not so much into comic books, so I don't know Wolverine, but he sure looks a bit menacing ... ;-)

  10. Wow you did an amazing job. I love Wolverine too, and I don't think you messed up on the mouth at all. Even if you were working from a photo and it wasn't exactly the same, so what? The end result really captured him. Also very interesting to see the progress pics.
